CC - Creative Commons
Many authors choose to waive their copyright, meaning that anyone may use their material without asking for permission. This form of information sharing is known as Creative Commons.
There are usually conditions, however. For instance, you must still cite the source when using copyright-free information.

Portrait copyright
When using images in which people are recognisably depicted, portrait copyright :
“The portrait right gives persons the right to object against publication of their portrait." [translation from dutch]

This concerns all kinds of images: photos, drawings, paintings, videos etc.
In other words, you must ask the depicted person permission before proceeding to use the image.
